The 1920's also called the "roaring twenties", due to the ages dramatic changes, both socially and politically. Inventions began pouring out, innovation filled the cities, and Americans left their farms. Wealth of the nation more than doubled between 1920 and 1929, and this economic growth took many Americans into a “consumer society”. Everyone from different areas began buying the same goods, (thanks to advertising), listening to the same music, doing the same dances, and even using the same slang! This new, urban, "1920's feel" sometimes brought more conflict than celebration. However, with people like Henry Ford, Charles Lindbergh, Margaret Sanger, and Bessie Smith, the twenties continued to roar.
