The 1920's was time of conveniences, especially for the middle class. Advertisements began to boom, causing an increase in consumer sales, which lead to the increase in the manufacturing of products. New products like, electric refrigerators, washing machines, and irons saved hours of extra work around the house, that was taken up before. Consumer oriented economy sky rocketed. People could, "buy now, and pay later" with credit, and investment plans were given out. Consumer debt increased around these years, due to such methods. Advertising became a battle between companies, and goods were flying out of assembly lines. To this day we can still observe the rush of the American consumer, and a steady rate of goods being manufactured.
